usb acces

Hello folks,
Is there any way to use USB interface while Etnernet is running. That is, can we load usb module and use it. Yes i know there is a protection mecanism on the usb connector, but we can remove it. My question is linked to the firmware possibility.
Thanks.

Re: usb acces

I believe that once the box starts the Linux-based NAS, access to the NTFS partition via the USB interface gets disabled.

Conversely, one needs to plug the device into a USB port before powering up the DNS-313 if they want USB access. The firmware and Linux does not run when in USB mode - it is exclusive hardware access for the USB bridge to the SATA drive NTFS partition.

Hope this helps.

Re: usb acces

Well, i think the best way to test this is to trace the init at boot time. I have seen some usb support in the init scripts but i have to check this in deep.
