DSM-G600, DNS-3xx and NSA-220 Hack Forum

Hi guys,

I've been using this small nas box since last year without any problem (patched with recent firmware)... until yesterday when i let it fall to the ground
This made the battery get out of its slot, and crashed the 500 GB Harddisk full of familiy pictures, videos and so on ..
The Hard disk's engine won't start (even when i changed the electronic board with another on of the same model) so i guess it is completly dead.

Regarding the dns-313, i put the battery back into its slot, bought the exact same HD (Samsung HD501LJ 500 go) and tried to re install the stuff.

The USB connection is working pretty well, no problem.

The Ethernet connection is another story :

I initialized and formated the disk, but no success.
I formated the disk with an EXT2 FS,but no success.
I removed any partition, but no succcess.
I used the reset button on the rear panel following the procedure, but no success.

( By the way : i now see a fixed green HD light (first time i see it as far as i can remember ...) at startup and it doesn't stop. )

Actually, the HD is starting correctly, the blue network light is blinking, and my router do correctly provide an IP address to the box through DHCP. The install is starting correctly but the the process stops at about 90 % of the "preparing hard drive" process (screenshot attached). No error is displayed it seems freezed but the mouse is ok and i can quit the setup.

I 've no way to push a new firmware or something  : no ftp, no http, neither RS232 connection (that su**)

I'm about to buy a new box but i'm pretty sure this is something that can be fixed.

Any idea would be very appreciated
