Users opinion on the 343

Hey guys...

I already have a 323, and have been very happy with it over the last year.

I have watched for the last year and it seems from the reviews that there have been alot of growing pains with the 343, I'm wondering if things have stabilized with this unit. I would like to upgrade to more storage and be running in raid 5 in case a drive goes down my data is safe.

I really only use it as a streaming device and backing up my data.

Buy or not buy....    or other recommendations for Raid 5 NAS....

Thanks

Re: Users opinion on the 343

To be honest I've never had any problems with it - fun plugged or otherwise - bar using it as a uPnP AV server, some bugs which I haven't full tested due to lack of having a functional ps3/xbox to access the box with.

I'm currently using firmware 1.02, 3 640GB discs in there as is (non raid or jbod), and never had any problems. Been on constantly since Oct 08.

I have heard some people had issues with raiding/jboding their discs, but nothing conclusive.

Streaming wise, no problem watching 700mb episodes of Top Gear via wireless (its on wireless B too, shitty old laptop), and same via lan.
