So far, using the build60 (I think) -- I've had no problems with ffp0.5 on my DNS-343 after having horrible issues with the stock 1.02firmware. (for no explicable reason)
This is about the kind of linux system I've always wanted. Low on power. Small in size. Keeps the drives spun down not just for normal wear and tear but for heat as well.
The stock samba supports lots of the normal samba stuff, but as I mentioned in my previous post, make sure to backup your file since you never know when the webGUI is going to break it.
In case anyone is wondering, I've got a [homes] definition in place and it works as expected with the path = <path>%S just like it should. But the webgui HATES that. (actually, more the browseable = no is what makes it break)

My setup is:
DNS-343 v1.03 (stock OLED firmware)
(4) Seagate 250GB Drives in RAID5 configuration (I know - small potatoes)
ffp 0.5 (Great job Fonz!)
sshd
rsyncd (set up as a daemon)
and soon to be dnsmasq
