TS-I300W configuration

Hi,

I've the opportunity to install a ts-i300w device at home but before doing this, I just to want to clarify something. Thanks for help in advance.
Is it possible to configure this device to make a link between an existing wireless network and a desktop computer via his Lan port. So something like that:

wireless dsl router <---WLAN---> ts-i330W <-----LAN-----> desktop computer.

In this way, the NAS will be visible on the wireless network and the desktop computer + offer the internet connection (available on the wireless network) to the desktop PC.

Again thanks for help. Best regards

DGI

Re: TS-I300W configuration

Its not possible while using official ts-i300w features because lan and wifi is bonded together.

Re: TS-I300W configuration

And the unofficial way? Or a better question: is there a way to run a "client-bridge" on the device? I mean, let the device as Access Point and make then a bridge beetween the two wifi networks.

Or any idea for doing this?

Re: TS-I300W configuration

It is possible but it will need lot of work and time. Better spend some more money and buy bridge.

If you want to try then chroot your ts-i300w to some standard i386 compatible linux distro. Then you should have some tools to unbond wifi/lan interface and configure both of them as you need. You might also need to boot custom kernel or compile bridge.o

Most of all it would help a lot if you know how to configure interfaces manually from linux command line in regular pc.
