Deleted files from NAS

It seems that one of my windows' music manager deleting mp3 files from my library on NAS. This player is installed on my laptop which wirelessly conects via router to DNS-313. Music is played by samba and not by media server.

My problem is that I found few files missing yesterday on NAS, just after playing session with this files by music manager. I'd like to figure out why it happened and I need any logs related to this deletion.

So the question is - Is there logs already and I cannot find it (I am not proficient Linux user) or can I install any package which be able to give me that kind of information (what software deleted files and when?)

Re: Deleted files from NAS

I'm probably off topic here, but worth letting you know what happened to me. If I'm connected to my NAS via network and i attempt to move around a large amount of data (100-200 GB) on the NAS, then window explorer give me an error and the file that was in the process of copying is lost !
If i then connect to the NAS via USB and from command prompt perform a checkdsk /f
then the files are recovered.

Re: Deleted files from NAS

Happens to me a couple of times a year that data goes lost unexplainable. Just plug the disk into your windows computer using USB cable and perform a scan disk.

DNS-323 - Excellent in many cases.
DNS-313 - Love it, but hate that D-link only prior the DNS-323 development.
DSM-G600 - Noisy, slow, unstable and ugly. I simply hate it so far.
