Re: DNS-320 and fun_plug

Nevermind. Seems to be working now. Filename initially was "fun_plug.". When the install didn't working I renamed it to "fun_plug" (without the dot) and later on changed it back with the dot. Renaming it back to "fun_plug" and then rebooting seemed to do it.

Is the fun_plug file supposed to be started each time the NAS starts? And then write to the log? Because the log has only been written during the install, I've rebooted multiple times since then but those records dont seem to be present in the logfile.

Yes for me the log is updated every time the DNS-320 boots. Maybe you can try a fresh install of ffp?

Re: DNS-320 and fun_plug

Hello,

I own a CH3SNAS and, since a few days ago, a DNS-320. I expected better network performance from the DNS-320 when compared to the CH3SNAS mainly due the a, supposedly better CPU (at least higher clock rate and bogoMIPS). Even though, I'm happy with it.

I have FFP running on my CH3SNAS without problems and I've install it on my DNS-320, thanks mainly to the information available at http://dns323.kood.org/dns-320#setting_up_ffp

I've come to an issue that I haven't see mentioned. In my CH3SNAS I'm able to save files in my home directory and those files resist rebooting the NAS. With the DNS-320, every reboot brings a new, clean home directory.

Any help solving this issue is welcome.

Thank you,
~/gnfpt

Re: DNS-320 and fun_plug

Hello,

I'm running fun_plug 0.5 on my DNS-320 and I'm having trouble with rsync. This is the error:

root@NAS2TB:/mnt/HD/HD_a2/ffp/pkg# rsync -av --update --progress --stats inreto.de::dns323/fun-plug/0.5/packages .

Anyone getting a similar error?

See Q. 3 here
It'll probably be answered by fonz, as this is, if I'm not mistaken, his server.

More findings regarding this issue:

This error only happens if I'm connected to the DNS-320 via SSH. When using telnet, everything is working just fine.
Help is most appreciated.

Re: DNS-320 and fun_plug

It almost looks like it is a shell problem. Have you tried it without the "--progress" flag?

Yes,

Re: DNS-320 and fun_plug

Hi,

I had same problems when I tried to connect with resync.
I solved it by using wget command on packages url I wanted to download.

So is anymone have success to kick the default webservice on this NAS?
Maybe we need to open a new forum category for DNS-320...

Re: DNS-320 and fun_plug

Hello,

I solved my issue. The DNS-320 comes with a buggie rsync (v3.0.7). Somehow I had a symlink to the firmware's rsync instead of ffp's version. (v3.0.5).

Long story short, I removed the symlink and have installed rsync v3.0.7.1 and everything is ok now.

Re: DNS-320 and fun_plug

Hey! I got one "DNS 320" for christmas and it's one thing that's bothering me. You should know the whole story to understand my problem.
I'm living in two different places (parents divorced), so I am truly in need of the AjaXplorer. The problem is, that when I'm using the Bittorrent in DNS 320, the torrent is beeing saved in a separate folder and I can only reach it when I am at dads house, where the DNS 320 is placed. I want to be able reach from my moms place. So my question is, can I change the torrent save path in any way so the torrent is beeing saved in AjaXplorer and not in a separate folder?

Hope you can give som nice answers.

Cheers
Fredrik

Oh almost forgot!

If you know any other way to reach the complete torrent from moms house, feel free to tell me! smile

Re: DNS-320 and fun_plug

Damn, I installed the funplug lighttpd and php and know the normal dlink setup page of the dns-320 isn't working anymore, is there a way to reset everything ? (back to factory)

The strange thing is that the lighttpd is only working when I stop and start it, it seems to interfere with the standard dlink webpage, I installed lighttpd on a different port.

Thx !

Btw : is there an easy way to install sabnzbd+ without debain on the dns-320 using the funplug ? tnx

Re: DNS-320 and fun_plug

djbase,

I've got the same problem with mine.
I you want to view the standard configuration page, you need to restart the NAS.
As you said you need to restart again lighttpd to use it...

If think that's because the kickweb.sh script doesn't work on DNS-320 and we can't kick the standard configuration page on an other port.
I'm looking for a solution too.

Re: DNS-320 and fun_plug

Cool, I'm not alone wink

So the problems lies within lighttpd or kickwebs.sh ?

I already put lighttpd on a different port then 80

Tnx,

Djbase

Re: DNS-320 and fun_plug

Guys, just be patient, i'm just coding a package for the dns-320. There is a possible solution for these problems smile I will post an entry on http://nas-tweaks.net when it's available (probably today or tomorrow)

Re: DNS-320 and fun_plug

The tutorial is updated, have fun with it:

http://nas-tweaks.net/88/installation-a … -fun_plug/

The new package lighttpd-1.4.28 contains a special kickwebs and a special lighttpd.conf for the dns-320.

Cheers,

Re: DNS-320 and fun_plug

Thanks a lot, i will try it.
As I've ever installed lighttpd and configured it, is it possible to have a link to kickwebs_dns320.sh script?
And what I need to change in lighttpd.conf? Just enable php? (It's ever done for my configuration).

That's just I don't want to reinstall again lighttpd if i can just change my configuration.

Thanks.

Re: DNS-320 and fun_plug

Could it be that there is a typo in your tutorial ?

for fun_plug.init
# create custom link to the server-folder
ln -s /mnt/HD_a2/www/ /srv

-> shouldn't that be :
for the dns-323 : ln -s /mnt/HD_a2/srv/ /srv
for the dns-320 : ln -s /mnt/HD/HD_a2/srv/ /srv

As you refere to "ln -s /mnt/HD_a2/srv/ /srv" tot test it, but gets lost when you reboot.

?

Damn I can't get new lighttpd to work... :'(, it just says starting lighttpd-angel and isn't started, and after a while it is running, but then it's the original dns-320 page that comes back, I used the lighttpd.conf for the dns-320

BTW : is there any way to install a sabnzbd release on the dns-320 without having to format everything and install debian ? (Didn't find any info on if it is safe and possible to install debian on it, like the dns-323 or does this one works ? : http://sourceforge.net/projects/debnas/) ?
