Hi
Dlink puted up a debian squeeze "file"
ftp://ftp.dlink.pl/dns/dns-320/driver_s … 110111.zip
According to the readme file it is a "chrooted" version, what does chrooted mean ?
Does it work like fonz plug, that is, the original firmware "runs in the backround" in the ramdisk and have set up /lib /include /bin directories in on the ram disk ?
Which means that new installations of the softwares need to be somewhere else than /lib /include /bin ?

Rather than messing with the installed stripped down linux of the NAS to run an app like Squeeze , one can install a full clean and complete version of say debian built for the NAS/devices on say /mnt/debian and install the app on it and run the app cleanly without any dependency on the installed linux of the NAS.
Once complete debian installed, one can then run a shell with the root path change to /mnt/debian and the use apt-get to install whatever app is available.
/mnt/debian/bin/chroot /mnt/debian /bin/bash
apt-get whatever-app-you-need-if-avail

Use chrome to translate to English if needed.
Hope my understanding is correct and helpful.
