Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Hi,
I'm having hard time connecting to my DNS-320 FTP server with SSL/TLS connection. I set up FTP server and made port:21 forwarded on router (Asus am200g).
All working O.K. I can connect and see my folders on NAS.
However when I switch to use "SSL/TLS connection only" I can't connect to server.
Using FileZilla FTP client to connect I just switched to "Require explicit FTP over TLS" and tried to connect. Here's what I get:
Response: 220---------- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [privsep] [TLS] ----------
Response: 220-You are user number 1 of 10 allowed.
Response: 220-Local time is now 12:55. Server port: 21.
Response: 220-This server supports FXP transfers
Response: 220 You will be disconnected after 10 minutes of inactivity.
Command: AUTH TLS
Response: 234 AUTH TLS OK.
Status: Initializing TLS...
Error: Could not connect to server
Tried another FTP client with SSL/TLS and got this message:
AUTH TLS
234 AUTH TLS OK.
SSL/TLS error - 0, SSL error - 5, error:00000005:lib(0):func(0)H lib
Winsock error 10054 (An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. )
SSL Connection not established
Should I forward more ports on router? Anyone experienced similar problem? If you have any ideas please let me know. Thanks for any help.

Are you using the "explicit FTP over TLS" encryption and it gives you that?
And about changing to Active Transfer Mode ?
Did it prompt any certificate warning ?
Try using the "Report external IP in PASV mode"

Hi,
thanks for help. I decided to leave this problem and try to setup SFTP server instead (should be more secure and less affect configuration of my obsolete router). Just finished installing fun_plug. Never played with Linux though so I'll need to read a lot....
Noticed that lftp application is there - I guess it can be used to start sftp server. Hopefully mr. Google will provide some nice tutorial.
Hope my steps are heading in good direction.
