Interpreting RAID info from dmesg

I am just comparing my dmesg output with the one from here (http://nas-tweaks.net/116/output-of-dme … k-dns-320/).

The differences I notice aren't much except for:
"md: md0 stopped.
md: bind<sdb1>
md: bind<sda1>
raid1: raid set md0 active with 2 out of 2 mirrors
Adding 530040k swap on /dev/md0.  Priority:-1 extents:1 across:530040k"

There are eariler references to "md: Autodetecting RAID arrays."

I had my box set up with RAID1 (2 1TB Samsung drives) but decided to switch back to two regular volumes (i.e. Standard).  What does the "raid set md0 active with 2 out of 2 mirrors" part mean if I don't actually have a RAID configuration?  I noticed similar stuff in the DNS-325 dmesg here (http://nas-tweaks.net/186/output-of-dme … k-dns-325/) but that appears to my untrained eye to actually have a RAID configuration?

Also, what's the swap part about?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Interpreting RAID info from dmesg

I suppose the swappartition on the 320 is always RAID1.
