Hi everyone,
I'm curious about others' performance of their NAS, and Nastester seems to be a pretty decent benchmark to see this. State your setup and paste your Nastester results!
NAS: DNS-320 (firmware 2.00 with funplug), but with only the default services + sshd running. I have transmission, automatic, and mediatomb packages but turned them off for this test. There is a single 2 TB WD Green HDD 5400 RPM (WD20EARS) installed. SMB is the weapon of choice for the transfer.
PC: My laptop is an i3-370m @2.4 GHz with gigabit ethernet (Atheros AR8131, integrated) and hard drive is a 5400 RPM WD6400BEVT.
Router: Actiontec V1000H gigabit router. I have confirmed full duplex 1000 Mbps modes for both laptop and NAS.
My results:

Summary: Gbit network, 5400 RPM for laptop/NAS
200 MB Test file: 25.72 MB/s Write, 47.22 MB/s Read
400 MB Test file: 24.5 MB/s Write, 52.49 MB/s Read
All in all, not too shabby.

Using an i5 based desktop connected to a DNS-320 with Green drives over a Gigabit network, I get 33MB/s writes and 46MB/s reads with 400MB files.
I do not use Jumbo frames on my network.
