Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Going from DNS323 to DNS325

Just got a DNS325 today.  On my old DNS323 I was using funplug and want to also use it on the DNS325.

I have a triple backup system setup on the DNS323 where every night at 2:05 the right drive copies any changes over to the left drive.  Any files that were added get added and any files deleted get deleted.  The DNS323 had an application to copy files on an interval using the local backup application, however, on the DNS323 the file dates were always lost because and all the files copied ended up with the current date rather then the original file date.  This is the main reason I installed a funplug.  The new DNS325 has fixed this problem, the file dates are now retained, however, it will not delete files from automatically.  I use my system to backup all the family photo's and movies.  If I want to delete some files it's kind of nice using linux commands because it will keep both hard drives looking the same.  Using raid as backup option can cause both drives to get corrupt so I never use raid anymore.  Raid is for those that need to keep a system running through a hard drive failure, not a means of backup.

I'm using the 3rd backup to test and setup the DNS325, I don't want to screw up the other two drives.  I have all my hard drives formatted as ext3 and the new DNS325 sees the hard drive just fine.

My question is, rather then go through the entire procedure to install funplug, can I just edit the fun_plug file in the root directory and update the file paths from "/mnt/... to /mnt/HD/..." or are there a lot more files involved.  It's been a long time since I installed funplug and setup the commands to automatically update and I'd rather avoid the hassle.  These drives are 2TB hard drives and take forever to reload.
