Weiter werden u.a.
The DNS-320 as Home Server
These Wiki pages contain a (hopefully!) continuously improving version of the master of advanced science thesis about the possible usage of the low-cost NAS device DNS-320 as a general-purpose server in the home network.
Abstract
The term “home network” is clarified which leads to general specifications of a home server. Considering data integrity as well as data safety, various threat scenarios are evaluated. This allows to complete the requirements.
The installation is effectuated on a D-Link DNS-320 NAS device as an FFP 0.5 installation with OpenSSH-, OpenVPN-, vsFTPd-, Lighttpd- and BackupPC server. Furthermore, DDNS, OpenSSL, SMB/CIFS, Rsync, GnuPGP, Duplicity and Cron are used among others.
The experience with that installation is described as well as possible expansions.
