Firefly 0.2.4.1?

Anyone care to take a stab at a binary for Firefly 0.2.4.1 or one of the newer nightlies since the 2.4.1 release (1685+)?
The binary for 1498 (http://dns323.kood.org/_media/download: … pa1.tar.gz) has been great, and I'd compile my own, but I think it's beyond me (not lazy, just dumb).

0.2.4.1 addresses security vulnerablilities

Maybe it will be in the 1.04 firmware?

Re: Firefly 0.2.4.1?

what's the advantage of firefly? i just followed the instruction and installed the firefly, but I see nothing special over d-link's own music player, which is based on the same software albeit older (1.04b6x firmware). in fact it feels clunkier.. The smart playlist is the only thing that looks more customizable, but even that doesn't show the most recently added songs or anything like that..

I don't mean to be an ass but can someone tell me why upgrade to firefly?

Re: Firefly 0.2.4.1?

@ciac: I'd say if you're happy with the out of the box experience, I can't imagine why you'd fun_plug firefly.
Out of the box, there's very little you can change related to the configuration of the mt-daapd.  Its config file is in the firmware so you can't really make changes to it.  The only reason why you'd want to make changes to it is if you're using something other than iTunes as a client (I'm using a Roku SoundBridge M2000), or if you'd like to have it serve something more exotic (less lossy) than MP3 (FLAC, WMA, etc.)

I see. Yeah I'm fixed to itunes for the most part, and I convert all my flac files into mp4 or mp3 anyway. Thanks for putting things into such a succinct perspective. Sometimes I just need that to make sure I'm not missing out on the party. smile

Thanks.
