help im stuck, i have a new dns-323 and are trying to assign permissio

hey people. i got my self a new dns 323 so i can hook it up to 6 xp machines, now i have 5 folders on the root., i want to assign permissions so 3 pc's can view particular folders while other xp machines cannot.
ive created the user accounts and groups in the dns323 webbase setup. but when i attempt to goto a folder on a xp machine i get this stupid box.

so i cant write my user name in the user name box. errr!

p.s i named my dns323 gcserver smile

Search for "manage my network passwords" in the Windows XP help, the procedure is different depending on whether you are using a domain controller or not.

I don't use one, and so what I do is this:

Click Start > Control Panel

Open "User Accounts" , choose the user

Choose "Manage my network passwords" from the "Related tasks" list on the left hand side of the window.

Enter the username and password that you want to use.

A user account can only have one username/password stored for a server.

Also, I think you could change the username/password on the DNS323 to match your Windows username/password, and that will be tried before the guest account.
