Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.
You are not logged in.
I've just got ssh connection going using putty and dropbear to connect as root.
During my boot process fun_plug sets the environment variables "TRANSMISSION_HOME=/mnt/HD_a2/.transmission" (I know this is working OK as I output env to a test file to make sure).
I notice that after connecting via putty that this variable is no longer set and as a result transmission-remote will not run until I export the variable again.
Does anyone know what happens when the ssh connection is made and how I can stop this variable being lost?
Cheers

The password-less telnet inherits all the environment variables from the fun_plug script. But login-sessions, like ssh connections will create a new environment for each sessions. It's composed of a standard environment plus stuff set in /.../fun_plug.d/etc/profile plus $HOME/.profile.

This is a real rarity - a forum that actually helps people !!!!!!
/.../fun_plug.d/etc/profile sorted it out for me
