Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Hello Everyone,
I have a DNS-323 (obviously ) that has fallen victim to the "CF/LF" error. Now All I get when I turn on the device is
a constant blinking power light. I can't access the web interface and the device was stock so no fun_plug. The hard drives
were set up in a raid 0 config and I was wondering what are my options to recover my data? Also will any of the following work
1) Take the drives out and stick them in another DNS-323?
2) Take the drives out and attach them to a pc and boot up knoppix...after that I am lost on how I would have to reconstruct the raid 0.
Thanks

Do you mean the CR/LF error with an uploaded config file? If so; depending on how big a hurry you're in - fixing via serial access is probably the easiest solution...
While I believe that relocating drives to another DNS-323 is possible even with RAID - I wouldn't experiment with data I couldn't afford to lose. I toasted my RAID-1 array trying to do it by hand - to be honest I got sloppy with a few steps and went from 94% fixed to wiped drives. I think the process could be made to work; but I don't trust the auto-logic on the DNS-323 web interface enough to let it experiment with valuable data. Relocating to another machine doesn't seem thought trough.
So my fixes in order would be:
1) Get serial access and fix the existing unit
2) Attach drives to a Linux PC and do the recovery by hand (at least then you know exactly what steps are happening).

jdoering,
First off thanks for replying! Yes, I got the CR/LF error from uploading a hand edited config file on windows. I was trying to enable Jumbo Frames ( I know stupid move ) and uploaded the config file and now the
device won't stop blinking!.
Right now, I am trying ufs explorer and a trial of raid reconstructor on windows to see if I can recover the data. Do you know of any guides that can step me through how to recover it using knoppix?
Also, what is the default cluster size the dns323 uses when you create a raid 0? 32KB?
Thanks
