Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Hey everyone,
Great forum, just purchased a DNS-323, and have learned boat loads by lurking Anyway, I have 1.05 and run OSX, so can't run the EasySearch (4.2.0) application to push the BT software onto the DNS-323.
Does anyone know how I might get the BT software onto my DNS-323 without using EasySearch? I could enable fun_plug and use the BT solutions there, but would prefer to use the D-link approved BT.
Any ideas ?
TIA,
Adz

Give me a place to upload the file and I'll send it to you. You will need to fun_plug, though. It will be the D-Link BT client, but you need to telnet into the box to extract it. Alternately, winrar can extract it, but I don't know if that program had ever been ported over to OSX.
Anyway, please use the search to look for answers before posting, this issue in in this thread: http://dns323.kood.org/forum/t2217-Unab … ction.html

bq041,
Many thanks. I did do a search for "BitTorrent", but that thread didn't jump out, as it's is called "Unable to install BiTorrent using Easy Search function", i.e. spelling mistake.
Could you upload using http://www.mediafire.com/ and post a link ?
Many thanks,
Adz

You don't need fun_plug or something else.
Upgrade the firmware to 1.05 and download my archive from here :
http://rapidshare.com/files/116556767/Nas_Prog.rar
And unpack ("Nas_Prog" folder) to the root folder on the DNS-323.
Restart the DNS-323, after the restart the BT works.

craft - Again, this assumes you have a program such as winrar that can extract it. It is essentially the same thing as mine.

craft/bq041,
Thanks both of you, even on OSX we have unrar! http://www.unrarx.com/
So downloaded, copied to root folder, restarted, and all works great.
Your time is much appreciated,

Same problem with mine in XP. Put the files on the root of both drives and it doesn't work.

Works fine here. I had to chmod some of the files to make them executable though.
