Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

CH3SNAS fun_plug 0.3 installation

Hi,

I have a CH3SNAS and would like to get the fun_plug 0.3 to run on it.

Here is what I tried:

The CH3SNAS has a static IP (192.168.1.88).

I copied fun_plug.tar and fun_plug to Volume_1 via FTP. Then I shutdown the CH3SNAS and started it again.

Then I try to telnet into it: "telnet 192.168.1.88" and it tells me connection refused.

Looking into Volume_1 tells me that no directories or files where changed at all. How does the script get executed at start?

I tried this process with the 1.0.0; the 1.0.1 and the 1.0.2beta firmware for CH3SNAS - no luck.

Can someone help me here?

Used WinZip to unpack the tar.gz? If yes, try again with a different program (e.g. WinRAR).

Actually I used WinRar for this... Also tried the TotalCommander archiver as well so this should not be the problem.

Any other suggestions?

Re: CH3SNAS fun_plug 0.3 installation

Then the fun_plug script might have lost executable permissions. Try copying using the windows explorer, i.e. dont use ftp. There might also be a way to set the executable bit via ftp.

Actually, the script has always been fully executable (777)... So this is not the problem.

Well, if the files are intact and the fun_plug script has correct permissions, you must have copied stuff to the wrong location.

Re: CH3SNAS fun_plug 0.3 installation

Can it be that the firmware (1.0.3beta) does not contain the /usr/sbin/chk_fun_plug script at all? And btw I have an ARM CPU inside.

We all have ARM CPUs. And I haven't heard yet about Conceptronic removing the funplug feature. Hmmm...
