Removed passwd - did brick my DNS?

During some "experimentation" I removed the passwd file in /etc. (Yeah I know - stupid!).

Now I can not access the DNS anymore ... even Easysearch does not find the DNS 323. My other NAS has a hardware reset switch to solve these problems. Unfortunately the DNS does not.

Can anybody help me reviving my DNS?

What happens when you power thr unit off and back on?

There is a reset switch - look for a pin hole on the back panel
