maximum disk size Deskstar7k1000 & Caviar WD7500 &

... and came a day when my DNS became too small

I am considering the following choices:

750GB category:
- Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 (750GB, 32MB, SATA300)
- WD Caviar SE-16 750 GB WD7500AAKS 16MB cache SATA-II
- Seagate 750 GB Barracuda 7200.10 (16MB, Serial ATA II)

1TB category:
-  Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 (1TB, 32MB, SATA300, NCQ)
-  WD Caviar GP-16  WD10EACS (1TB, 16MB, SATA/300)
-  Seagate Barracuda ST31000340AS  7200.11 (1TB, 32MB, SATA/300, NCQ)

on the surface of it - Deskstar seems to have best specs....

my DNS is not heavily used - rather I decided to dump all my archives on it

Also I could not get a straight answer from D-Link whether or not such drives are/will be compatible

I wonder is anybody has hands-on experience with XXL size drives - any real life feedback on  temperature, noise would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I am using 2 Hitachi Deskstar 1TB drives. Been running almost 2months now no problems.
