I've changed the pc motherboard today, and when I try to connect the DNS323 to the ethernet port (with a crossed cable) I can't configure the NAS. Please note the one hour before, with the old mobo, everything worked fine with the same connection.
At this moment, Easy Search Utility can see the NAS (dlink EE47B2), but when I select it and press "Configuration" botton, it says "Device is no longer avaliable".
LAN settings in Easy Search Utility are: IP 192.168.0.2, Netmask 255.255.255.0, Gateway 192.168.0.10 and "Receive DHCP" Disabled. If I press "Apply" botton it asks me for password, but I've never set a password, as shown in the manual! I've always left it blank.
If I try to access the NAS at the 192.168.0.2 address in IE, it finds nothing.
I'm under Vista32 and I set an IP static address for the connection to the NAS (parameters the same as in Easy Search Utility).
What can I do? I've over 500Gb of data store in two seagate 750Gb each in raid 0 and I can't really think of losing them...
If I try a reset from the back botton, do I loose the raid configuration?
I've thought to a firmware upgrade, but I can't access the configuration page.
Can anyone help me, please?!? I'm very worried!

I hope you didn't use the same IP on the PC as on the DNS ...

When you do get access to the data - start by backing it up - and NEVER, EVER, put data you cannot afford to lose on a RAID0 array.

No, DNS IP is 192.168.0.2, PC is 192.168.0.3.
By the way, I've opened Network Resources and I found the DNS323, now I'm copying the data to another disk. When finished, I'll try to map the NAS manually to see it as an unit.
But why does not Easy Search Utility work?
And the last question: does firmware upgrade force to me to rebuilt the array, or data is safe?

upgrade your firmware on your 323
i had the same issue trying to use that search tool. never worked for me either

Well, I not know it for sure. The the one in the NAS is the second copy, but unfortunately, I had to format the HD with the first copy!
By the way, I've managed to enter the configuration page, re-set IP address and now everything is fine, I could map the drive using Easy Search.
WOW!

Do you confirm no data loss upgrading the firmware? Did you do it on a raid 0 array?

i have performed 3 firmware upgrades thus far .. from 1.01 to 1.03 to 1.04b to the new 1.04b8 .. and in all upgrades i have never experienced a data loss. however, i am not using raid 0 but raid 1.. i will never do raid 0
