Files disappear with AFP / Netatalk on a Mac client

Hi all,

I just thought I would share a solution to a problem I have experienced a few times on both OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and 10.5 (Leopard) when using AFP to connect to my DNS-323 running netatalk.

A few times, I have had my DNS-323 display empty (e.g. no files) when connecting to it from a Mac over AFP. Using Samba shows the files. In researching this type of issues, the only references I found were in regards to the *nix permissions not being set correctly on the DNS (in this case, in the chroot'd etch install that is running netatalk).

The solution ended up being much easier. Simply delete the keychain entries on the Mac client that cannot see the files or folders, then reconnect to the DNS-323 using AFP. This has happened to me twice and so I thought i would spare others the misery if they also experience the problem.
