I have been problems with UPnP-AV Server issues.
I'm using Nero Home how UPnP client. The Nero Home could list all movies at UPnP Server, however when I click on file movie (.avi), Nero Home said that couldn't open file after 2 or 3 minutes. In the list movies, the file name has many special character (char). What happened? The file name can be the problem?
When I was using one HD all things worked, however after I added more one HD, I couldn't change language of system, UPnP Server stopped to work....
I changed the file name to p.avi on DNS-323 via the network share. After, I tried to play the file at Nero Home that show me the file name correct at the list, however happened the same problem.
When I try play via the network share, I can play.
Can someone suggest a new client UPnP-AV? I not sure, but I think the Nero 8 is the problem.
I'm using:
- Nero 8.
- Firmware 1.03
- RAID 0
- DI-624 Wireless Router
Server Enables:
- iTunes
- UPnP-AV
Directory Sctruture
/
/Volume1
/MultiMedia
/Music <--- path of iTunes Server
/Movie <--- path of UPnP-AV Server
/p.avi

Have you tried Windows Media Player? You should be able to point it to the media server running on the NAS and play files from it.

I couldn't make configuration in Windows Media Player!
Can Someone help me make configuration in Windows Media Player?

or Twonky
in WMP, just goto TOOLS > LIBRARY > MONITOR FOLDERS

It's can be about conectivity? My DI-624 every time can't recognize the MAC adress of computer. For this reason I need to ping the machine and DNS-323.
Once a time, I heard that iTunes Server and UPnP-AV Server when enables at the same time, Either iTunes or UPnP stopped work. Is it true?

He's looking for the client, not the server.

Can you see the UPNP server in your network (for example, goto control panel -> network and see if the device is discoverable). If the device is discoverable, you should be able to find it in Windows Media Player. I have Twonky running on the DNS-323 and I can see it and play music it from it just fine through Windows Media.

Not sure if I understand the question here For my setup I don't have the iTunes server running, just UPnP.

Thank dan,
I want know if iTunes Server and UPnP Server can be running at DNS-323 at same time. Nowaday, I'm afraid install another app at DNS-323, for this reason I'd like still using native UPnP server.
Are there other alternative UPnP Server that can be installed in DNS-323?

I can't think of any reason why running both wouldn't work. As for an alternative UPnP server, you could try installing Twonky. That's what I use and it works fine. Here is a link to the version specific to the DNS-323.
http://www.twonkyvision.com/Download/4. … dns323.zip
If you're interested in a beta, here is a link for 4.4.3
http://www.twonkyvision.com/Download/4. … dns323.zip
Installation is simple. Just run NASSetup.exe and enter the IP address of the DNS-323 along with a user/pass.

This UPnP Server is free?

The PC is conected by wire, but didn't work fine. When I was monitoring the UPnP-AV server of DNS-323 I identified server shut down during Nero Home tried connected. I needed save setting with the same path to server start again.
After I reinstall the firmware 1.03 the server stopped shutdown, however i couldn't played the movies.
I got this network packets when the DNS-323 communicate with Nero Home. ;D
According this packets the problem is in DNS-323. I reckon the file isn't in HD_a2, so DNS-323 is lost. :-\
During my test, UPnP Server build the URL http://192.168.0.7:63891/web//mnt/HD_a2 … oVinci.avi wrong, the file don't exist in this URL.
What can I do? ???

According this packets the problem is in DNS-323. The correct file name is CodigoVinci.avi. I reckon the file is in HD_a1 and DNS-323 is lost. During my test, the URL http://192.168.0.7:63891/web//mnt/HD_a2 … oVinci.avi that UPnP build an URL wrong, the file don't exist. What can I do?

It's can be about conectivity? My DI-624 every time can't recognize the MAC adress of computer. For this reason I need to ping the machine and DNS-323 or repair the conection.
In another computer I could play the movie during 3 minute and after stopped alone. Are there troubles between DI-624 and DNS-323?
