Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

If you have a chroot Debian environment you can use VNC http://www.realvnc.com/
to get a virtual x-server and run the gui with that.
I have done this (VNC install) on my Kurobox (Buffalo Tech single drive NAS).
There is a how-to for VNC install on a Kurobox at http://www.nas-central.org/index.php/De … dia_Server
Just skip down to the section of the page that describes VNC installation, these
instruction should work the same on a DNS-323 (debian environment)

I put a section on rtorrent at http://dns323.kood.org/howto:bittorrent . It's extremely simple to install if you have a chroot debian environment.
Unfortunately the apt version installs 0.6.4, which does not support encryption. I'm tearing my hair out trying to figure out how to get it to install 0.7.9 (it's in http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/r/rtorrent/) but I don't know much about debian.
