init: timeout opening/writing control channel /dev/initctl

Hi guys. Having another go at getting my DNS-323 up and running. Again smile

I'm using Etch R2, Fonz's v0.3 fun_plug and I'm able to chroot to Etch without any problem. Now, reading the wiki page (http://dns323.kood.org/howto:chroot_debian) re: removing broken packages, I need to ensure there's something sensible in /dev and /proc. /dev has loads of stuff in it, /proc is totally empty. When I run 'dpkg -iGREB .' (without quotes), it fails mid-way through with the error:

init: timeout opening/writing control channel /dev/initctl

yet, when I run it again, it's fine. Is this anything to worry about?

Thanks!
