DNS-323 - Possible DOA

Hey Guys,

I think I might have a DOA DNS-323. I have just installed a single SATA 500G Samsung drive in the left bay and when I press the power button on the front, the power LED blinks rapidly while the HDD starts to spin, it then goes solid blue for a while then starts flashing blue for a while and finally powers down. It's all over within a space of 45 seconds.

Any ideas until the D-Link Australian Help Desk come on line in about 10hrs?

Re: DNS-323 - Possible DOA

Power up the unit without the disk - does it still turn off?  If yes, it's probably the unit (or the power adapter) - if no, it's probably the disk - my DNS-323 will power up with no disks and I can get to the logon & admin web pages, although this may be dependent on the firmware version.

Re: DNS-323 - Possible DOA

fordem,

Good suggestion to try without hdd loaded. But,I get the same behavior - shuts down in less than half the time this in this scenario.

Thanks
