Re: Debian how-to

Maybe someone could archive and update their working copy of gentoo and debian for people to download?

Re: Debian how-to

Someone updated the wiki page, looks like this fix will work in unmodified d-link firmware to get around segmentation fault.

Re: Debian how-to

So which version of debian you are installing? unstable, testing or stable? I suggest you to go with stable (lenny), unstable (sid) does not support 2.4 kernel any more.

I agree!

DNS-323 - Excellent in many cases.
DNS-313 - Love it, but hate that D-link only prior the DNS-323 development.
DSM-G600 - Noisy, slow, unstable and ugly. I simply hate it so far.

Try google. There is a workarounds to replace lenny script and you can get this script also from other debootstrap source pakages. I am not sure but debian testing might be also supported with 2.4 kernel.

Re: Debian how-to

I was able to install Debian Etch with no problem just replace step 6 with:

/mnt/HD_a2/bin/sh ./usr/sbin/debootstrap --arch powerpc etch /mnt/HD_a2/debian http://ftp.nl.debian.org/debian

From what I was able to find in searching the debootstrap files available in the net lenny is just a symlink to the script sid so I tried making a simlink lenny to sid but that just spit out errors. I didn't try just using sid so I don't know about that but etch definitely works.

Now if I can find info on permanently chrooting from fun_plug!

Dont install slind. Try regular debian and use wiki page as your guide.
