Apologies if this has been discussed before but I cannot seem to locate the answer.
My problem: DNS-323 does not allow non alphanumeric characters in password.
My (proposed) solution: Use CLI (TELNET/SSH) interface to setup the password.
I am able to successfully change and update /etc/shadow. However believe I need to change the password entry in /etc/samba/smbpasswd. Could someone point me to a simple method by which I can do this, preferably on the DNS-323 itself as I am running XP and have access only to CYGWIN Unix like environment.

Edit: I did a search for "smbpasswd" and found all the information I needed. Why did I not think of it first time!
