Hello,
I just purchased my DNS-323 and updated it to firmware 1.04. For now the only thing I'm interested in is having better control over the fan, namely having it turn off when it has cooled down sufficiently. I found and configured the "general use ctrl_fanspeed.sh" script on the Wiki page (http://dns323.kood.org/hardware:fan) and have several questions related to it:
1) Is this the script that most people use, or is there some other version that I should use instead?
2) In the fan control script, the update_interval is configured for 60 seconds. Since I'm not at all familiar with scripting, would it mess anything else up in the script to change it to a higher value so it doesn't check it so frequently?
3) Has anyone confirmed whether or not the auto-shutdown due to high temperatures still works with this script?
4) I have Power Management configured to power off the hard drives after 5 minutes. I noticed that after about 5 minutes that only 1 of my drives spins down (RAID 1), and the next one doesn't spin down for a while after. Is this normal behavior?
Thanks.

1) i use it
2) You can set it higher, but i would not recommend it. Than you proably get abrupt speed changes (lets say 5 mins slow, than 5 mins fast), which makes much noise. I have it set to 30 s.
3) dunno
4) No, its not normal. but this behaviour can have a lot of reasons (fun_plug services, printer, ftp, windows client still connected etc)
