running HD diagnostics on the DNS323
Just got my DNS323 a couple days ago and loaded it up with 2 Western Digital 500GB drives. I attempted to run the free Western Digital diagnostic tools against the drives but didnt get very far and i know why that is.
The DNS323 is on my wireless network...so if my thinking is correct whatever diagnostics i run would have be run on the actually DNS323 itself. Right?
So what tools do you guys use to run diagnostics to check the integrity of your hard drives on your DNS323s?
I haven't installed fun_plug yet but i plan to do so as i know this would more than likely be step 1.

i figured that maybe there was some open source linux utility that could be installed on the NAS to handle this... perhaps i was mistaken.

What diagnostics do you want to check? What parameters would
you want to see to verify the integrity of your hard drive?

smartmontools 5.38 is in optware ipkg feed.
