uShare cant find egiga0.

Hi,

It has been around 9-10 years since I played around with Linux so I have not kept up with changes implemented.

I have a 1.04FW DNS-323 which I installed FFP 0.4 on and uShare from the links provided here.  I was shocked at how easy it was to do compared to 'the old days' but have hit an issue.

uShare dies.  After reading through the uShare thread and running it from the command line in verbose mode it reported two things.......

Port not in valid range..... easily fixed although I thought the config file said it defaulted to a set number if not specified.

Can't find egiga0........ This is where lack of recent Linux changes is causing problems.  Now I assume that egiga0 is the network interface device.  If this is the case then I would expect to find it in the /dev directory but it is not.  Running ifconfig shows that it is configured which is also evident in that I can mount drives from the DNS-323 on my XP machine and can telnet in to it.  The only egiga references I can find on the box are by running 'find ./ -name 'egiga' -print' from / which brings back two entries at something like (from memory) /proc/config/net/egiga

I have no idea where to go from here to get uShare running.

Any suggestions please

Cheers
