Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Popcorn Hour, NFS and the DNS323 can it be done?

has anyone actually amanged to get the popcornhour to see videos on the 323 when using NFS?  (can do smb just fine)

If so how?

I have followed the instruction to install the fun plug.  I have tried version 4 and moved onto version 5.

I can access the shell using putty and typed in the commands to run the unfs server just fine.  in fact heres the putty log.  Seems just fine.

/ # sh /ffp/start/unfsd.sh start
Linking /etc/exports ...
Starting /ffp/sbin/rpc.portmap
Starting /ffp/sbin/unfsd -e /ffp/etc/exports
/ #
/ #

So with that done, I go to the popcorn hour and into networks share
type
nfs://192.168.178.3:/nmt/HD_a2/

into the network search file and on connecting get no content found.

I have tried

nfs://192.168.178.3:/Volume_1
nfs://192.168.178.3:/nmt/HD_a2/Volume_1
nfs://192.168.178.3:/nmt/HD_a2/Volume_1/movies
(directory name where m y movies are stored)

in fact ever concevable version of logon but always get no content found.

So where am I going wrong?

Any experts out there that can provide help?

Re: Popcorn Hour, NFS and the DNS323 can it be done?

No expert but my problem was that my Videos were all stored in subfolders, if I set the network share to the subfolder I could see the vob files but if it was set to the main folder I got the no content message.

So if you try nfs://192.168.178.3:/nmt/HD_a2/Volume_1/movies/"folder name" you should be able to connect - however not very convenient and I'm sure that there is a better way

I don't think you ever need to mention both '/nmt/HD_a2' and 'Volume_1' since they represent the same thing -- one physical, one logical.

Also, if nfs won't work for your PH, you may want to try out llink, which works great for me.

Sorry didn't check properly ......./mnt/HD_a2/movies/"folder name"  missing the Volume_1 was what I should have quoted and its mnt rather than nmt
