recover death NAS

Hi

I somehow managed to delete a couple of probably necessary directories on the NAS using telnet (dont ask me why, I dont know). Now the NAS doesnt boot up anymore. Neither the reset button seems to be working. Is there an easy way to recover it? What is the batterie on the lower side of the board for? Ive got a JTag interface; is it any help to recover the device?

Re: recover death NAS

take out disks
take of power
hold in reset
while holding in reset put on power and hold rest for 30 sec.
release
take power off
put power on
see if it works.

First user to fun_plug the dns-323.

Re: recover death NAS

Hey thx man, its working again. I already saw myself disassembling and messing around for hours.
Anyway another problem I have is that when I have downloaded something using BT I can't move the file nor can I delete it. Is there a reason for that?

Re: recover death NAS

Who did you log in as to set-up your bit-torrent?  If you logged in as Admin, then your files can only be manipulated by 'Admin'.  For downloads, you should login using the same user name and password that you use to map a drive to the DNS.  Each user set-up has its own separate login to the download menus.
