Hi...
I'm having big troubles watching movies from the 323 on my PS3.
The 323 is reporting wrong sizes, so all movies over 2gig will not play to the end.
I've tried the same file/movie on a Synolgy NAS at worked without any problems. The PS3 is showing the corecct sizes and streams the movie till it ends.
Can anyone confirm the 2048meg limit when watching movies from the DNS-323 to the PS3... or is it just my device having a big error?!

The default UPNP server from the DNS-323 is all kinds of broken... Use one of the 3rd party ones like Twonky "Not Free" and some other open source ones like media-tomb, etc...
I personally bought Twonky and is been working flawlessly on my 323
And yes I can play files bigger than 2GIGs...

I agree, Twonky is working great. Plays 24gig+ video files of all types from the 323, only problem has been larger picture files but I believe even that has been fixed with version 5.0 (still in beta).
And yes, the 323 on-board UPnP server is seriously broken.

It's your fault. Get the newest PS3 firmware and it will work.

Are you kidding me!?
I've the latest FW and as you can see there are many others having the same problem.
Edit: Do you own a PS3 and does it work for you?! ... I'm talking about streamin directly from the NAS to the PS3 whitout using any form of software.

I dont know what kind of PS3 you have but in order to stream from your NAS you have to have a streaming server or at least a web server serving the files with mime types... Any ways Twonkey does not have transcoding and if the PS3 could not play the file it would error out with unsupported data... I use to get that a lot with the previous "early" firmwares.... since a few firmwares ago the 2GIG limit was addressed...

This i known...
I just want my NAS to repport the correct filesize to my PS3. All files over 2gig are reported as 2048meg (2gig) to the PS3. I've been testing the same files on a Synology NAS and it repoorts the right filesizes.
For an exampel. Let's say that movie dkdkdkdk.mpg is 8gig. This file/movie it is reported as 2gig to the PS3.
The same file on a Synology NAS shows the correct size, and as the result is that PS3 will play the file to the end. On the Dlink the PS3 will only play 1/4 of the movie.

Great!
I tought it was my DNS is broken. Well then, it is time to install Twonky to make it work? Any good guide to install Twonky?
Offline
First install ffp and than head to the twonkey site and download the twonkey package for DNS-323... If you are a windows user they have a very simple exe that does all the install process to your DNS...
But first you have to make sure you have ffp installed.

And "ffp" is funplug? and where to find this "plug" homepage or / and any guide would be appreciated.
