non-Latin characters in file names

I copied my entire music subdirectory from a shared drive on a Windows 2003 file server to a My Music subdirectory on my DNS-323.  So, now I have My Music on Volume_1. Great! I can see the subdirectory in the Windows Explorer and I can play the songs in iTunes and Windows Media Player.
The problem is with directory and file names that use non-Latin characters (I have many folders and files named using Cyrilic alphabet). Both Windows Explorer and iTunes do not show these names properly. Anyone can come up with a recomendation on how to fix this?

Have you formated your HDDs after upgrading to fw 1.04? That's the only way to activate the unicode support..

I think my DNS-323 came with 1.04 installed. I have 1.05 running on it now. Thanks for the advice. I will give it a try.
On a related topic, is it OK to format drive 2 just to test things out while keeping drive one just the way it is?

Re: non-Latin characters in file names

Yes, but I recommend taking drive 1 out before formatting drive 2.
