Re: Have to enter password everytime

I had this problem as well (even though I had set the network drive to persist) and had to resort to a hidden application in Windows XP - the key manager

In the run box execute the following

Rundll32.exe Keymgr,KRShowKeyMgr

A window called stored usernames and passwords should appear

Click add then fill in the screen with the DNS323 netbios name, the user account and user password you are trying to connect with.

This information is stored and used in any subsequent connections

I don't know why this is hidden in windows as it seems to be very useful for connecting to other OS's (thats probably why)...

Here are all the others that I am aware off - Take care with the format ones and you can lock yourself out of xp with the advanced user manager (only works in workgroups)
Copy Floppy = Rundll32.exe DiskCopy,DiskCopyRunDll
Format Windows = Rundll32.exe Shell32,SHFormatDrive
Key Manager = Rundll32.exe Keymgr,KRShowKeyMgr
Open Hotmail = Rundll32.exe "%ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer\hmmapi.dll",OpenInboxHandler
Safely Remove Hardware = Rundll32.exe Shell32,Control_RunDLL Hotplug.dll
Swap Mouse Buttons = Rundll32.exe User32,SwapMouseButton
.NET Passport Wizard = Rundll32.exe Netplwiz,PassportWizardRunDll
Advanced User manager = control userpasswords2

Re: Have to enter password everytime

Why even bother creating users on your dlink then?  Just use the default share and keep it open to everyone.  No password should be needed then.

Re: Have to enter password everytime

By the way: The keystore is not entirely a hidden application. You can find under your user manager/change an account/Manage my network passwords (I did, however, find it by chance).
