prompted for new root password after each boot

After upgrading the DNS-323 firmware to version 1.05 and installing fonz 0.5, each time I log into the root account with ssh after a reboot, it forces me to enter a new root password. Can't see why from /etc/shadow:

# chage -l root
Last password change                                    : Jun 10, 2008
Password expires                                        : never
Password inactive                                       : never
Account expires                                         : never
Minimum number of days between password change          : 0
Maximum number of days between password change          : 99999
Number of days of warning before password expires       : 7

Also uptime is wrong:
# uptime
13:50:00 up 14040 days, 11:50, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00

Re: prompted for new root password after each boot

Maybe you can set a new root password and then execute store-passwd.sh ...

Yes, but add 'pwconv':

Code:

pwconv
passwd
store-passwd.sh
