Can't connect to drive

I know this is a major noob question for most of you guys, but I'm pulling out my hair here.  I have copied numerous files to the dns-323, erased the original "blanket" permission setting and have set up a few new permission settings.  The settings that allow everyone access to a particular folder work perfectly, but when I try to access the drive that has access limited to a specific user, it won't let me access it.  It brings up the windows network log-in screen, and I type in the user name and password in the correct case (and have tried several diff passwords), but it keeps saying I don't have permission.  I'm fairly decent when it comes to networks, but am brand new to Vista (I'm running Vista 32-bit Ultimate Edition w/ SP1, and have upgraded my DNS-323's bios to 1.05).  Am I missing something here?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Can't connect to drive

Did you solve this issue?

I had a similar problem with mine:

If I enable user- or group-rules for access, I can't log in to the system at all. This happens whenever the unit is rebooted. If you change one of the passwords, suddenly all of them work.

Check "Share not accessible after reboot" under "Known Issues" on the wiki:
  http://dns323.kood.org/information:known_issues

For me, the solution is to access the share via its IP address rather than its name.

Hope this helps.
