Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Re: 1.04RC3 firmware CH3SNAS

Updated to 1.04 ch3snas firmware.

1. renamed fun_plug + reboot
2. install fw 1.04 + reboot
3. rename _fun_plug back to fun_plug + reboot
4. reset ch3snas to default system settings
5- set settings again

Now the hdd in the ch3snas is seeking ..whatever ..all the time.. it gives me constant seek noise.. rebooting wont help, logging in via telnet works, so funplugs should work. but what is that seeking noise? and why doesnt the hdd spin down as set after 5 mins? can i check via telnet what job is responsible for whats goin on?

cheerio and thx!

Turn off all servers (iTunes, UPnP media server, etc) if you are not using them. They could be indexing media.

Re: 1.04RC3 firmware CH3SNAS

during upgrade the root passwd is lost. If you use SSH you first have to enable telnet again by using Fonz original funplug (at least i did it this way) and then restore the password by typing at the command promt:

passwd

If that worked, save the password to flash memory:

store-passwd.sh

Hope this might help people out, it took me quite a while before realizing what was going on
