BT stopped working

Damn,
The built in BT has stopped working (have been fw 1.05 for a while now). When I add a torrent it says the usual

"Torrent URL has been sent" (and the Okay button)

but the torrents never appear. The only thing I have done recently are:

1. Activated Logging "cat /var/log/messages "
2. Did a "chmod -R 777 /mnt/HD_a2/BT/complete/" so I can delete my completed torrents using Windows (from forum thread http://dns323.kood.org/forum/t2640-user … files.html

Anyone have an idea?

Thanks
Tony

Re: BT stopped working

Have now tried restarting the box but it's still not doing anything. Tried from an XP and a Vista machine to add the torrents but no luck (didn't expect this to fix it but thought I would try anyway)....

HELP !!!

Re: BT stopped working

Sorry, I think the general consesus amongst a good portion of us is that the built in BT client is crap and has security issues.  You may want to consider Transmission.  There is a large amount of support for it here on this forum.

Re: BT stopped working

ive found that the add from link has never worked for me, so i just save the .torrent file to a pc and add from file.. as far as speed goes, the built in client works fine, but the customised settigns (port / speed settings) seem to disappear randomly. in essence, the client "works" but is a tad buggy

Haven't tried the 'add from file' way as the 'add from link' has always worked for me in the past. I thought I might have broke something but it sounds like it may just be a 'feature' of the box
