Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

I recently purchased the DNS-323 mostly to store my music and media files. I needed to get it all onto a raid setup for redundancy, and having it network attached was simpyl a bonus. So far I love the box. I have been lurking on these forums for about a week now, and have learned a lot about this device. As of yet, the box is not modded in any way, as I don't yet see a need for the fun_plug. Upon first opening the box I upgraded to the latest firmware, 1.05.
After loading about 100GB of mp3 files onto the box, I thought I'd test the iTunes server simply out of curiosity. I diabled all server functions (PnP, FTP, etc) except the iTunes server, and then I hit the Refresh button to update the iTunes DB. This Refresh took about 30 minutes, and when it was done it showed up in my iTunes as expected. I then disabled the iTunes server so that I could finish loafing my music without interruption. Happy go lucky.....right?
So I finished loading my music onto the DNS, a total of about 180GB. I went back into the web interface, and the box was mostly quiet. The temps were low and the sync claimed "Completed". I then navigated to Advanced > iTunes Server to re-enable the feature, and this is where to problem starts....
Only the top 15% of the page is displayed. I only see the buttons "Save Settings" and "Do Not Save Settings", and nothing shows up underneath it. Furthermore, when I try to navigate anywhere else in the web interface, I get a standard Firefox (and IE7) "Page Not Found" error. I have to wait about 5-7 minutes before I can log back into the web interface, at which point the same issue occurs with the iTunes server.
I attempted to restart the box, which didn't work. I then attempted to reload the 1.05 firmware and restart the box, but still the same issues occur. Has anyone seen an issue like this before? Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance!

Anybody? Am I the only one who has seen this issue? Or is it just that no one uses the web gui anymore?

Cereal,
I just recently prurchased as well and have encountered the same problem. I have had no success in trouble shooting. All I have been doing is looking through the boards for a solution and I know nothing, but I am pretty ignorant. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone and to post if you find anything. I'll do the same...

I'm having the same problem!
Whenever I login on the admin page of my CH3SNAS, everything works fine. Once I go to iTunes Server and click the 'browse' button (or just enable), my browser says that it cannot display the page. It takes about 5 minutes for the admin pages to be accessible again.
I also tried rebooting the machine etc, but no luck. Still running the 1.02 firmware btw (with ffp 0.5)
edit:
I'm going to try starting the config webserver myself and look at the feedback it gives. I'll use the info from this post:

Did you check the http://dns323.kood.org/information:known_issues. There is something about a broken iTunes interface in the list. I had the same issue on my CH3SNAS and this solved it.

Yes! Thank you
"cp /sys/crfs/default/mt-daapd.conf /etc/mt-daapd.conf" actually got the web interface to work and now the server is running perfectly

Same has happend to me with firmware 1.05 and ffp 0.5. I have applied the fix described above, now it works again.
According to the wiki this was fixed in firmware 1.03. So the bug has resurfaced again in 1.05. I’ve updated the wiki accordingly.

I tried the fix with the .conf file copy but I'm still unable to disable mt-daapd (iTunes Server) from the GUI.
Can anyone tell me how to permanently disable the iTunes Server from running on startup from the command line (telnet) instead? Thanks.
