Why is it slow?

I have the DSM-G600 and my up and dl speed is like max 1000 kB/sec. What can I do to get it faster? The network it self, the disc inside and everything else is in perfect condition. I have read this thread (http://dns323.kood.org/forum/t909-slow%3F.html) and they think that their speed at 4000kB/sec is slow, and normally gets like 15000kB/sec.

(Yes, I know the difference between kb/kB/MB etc.)

Re: Why is it slow?

Thread you pointed out is about  DNS-323, but you got DSM-G600.There are many reasons why it can be slow. Best way to test things out is to reformat the drive, copy some big (>1GB) files to disk using ftp and samba. It there files is still copied and read very slowly, then you can install telnet and look DSM-G600 load and maybe run hdparm -tT /dev/sda

DSM-G600 - NetBSD hdd-boot - 80GB Samsung SP0802N
NSA-220 - Gentoo armv5tel 20110121 hdd-boot - 2x 2TB WD WD20EADS
