Better NTFS support on the 323 / ntfsprogs

I've been looking around for better NTFS support for Linux and came across what appears to be a mature, user-mode NTFS driver for linux: ntfsprogs (www.linux-ntfs.org).    Apparently this is already included in several linux distributions, I would venture to guess there are people out there who have experience with it.  Since I'm definitely not a programmer (or even able to get source code to configure on the 323 at this point), I was curious if anyone had tried downloading and compiling this on the 323.  If so, what were the results?  Could this be something packaged up to be distributed as one of ffp's packages?
