Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

It's been about a year since I setup my DNS-323. I installed FunPlug 0.3 or 0.4, can't tell what version I have and I have firmware 1.04.
I'd like to update to 1.05 and Fun Plug 0.5 and would like to check with the experts before I start.
I only use these two items besides the core functionality:
MusicBrowser: http://dns323.kood.org/forum/t1132-Ligh … eamer.html
CopyAllDate: http://dns323.kood.org/forum/viewtopic. … 50&p=1
Here's my questions
1.) Can I just update firmware from 1.04 to 1.05? will I need to reconfigure anything or loose the way I'm setup?
2.) What is the best way to get funplug 0.5 on my unit? uninstall 0.4 or just go with 0.5 right over 0.4?
Any other thoughts or recommendations before I start this?

If memory servers me correctly, when I upgraded from 1.04 to 1.05 the only issue encountered was lost shares. All else went very well.
Thanks to fonz there's a nice write up on the upgrade of ffp at http://dns323.kood.org/howto:ffp

My opinion is to stay with 1.04. 1.05 has a few security holes in it, and I have seen no real advantage in 1.05. I use ffp 0.5 and love it.

I gave it a shot. All worked well, but I had to redo everything over from scratch when I upgraded from to ffp 0.5, Redo all configs, install PHP package, update config for lighttpd, reinstall the rsync jobs, etc... but it all worked fine after going through the great step-by-step tutorials out there.
The only step-by-step I could not find was how to install the PHP package... that took me the most time and I had to piece it together... I could not locate a simple set of instructions on this one.
Now I'm debating the 1.05 Firmware. Thanks for info bq041, The reason I was looking to upgrade was because I have a 70GB music folder and user the itunes server, and I saw that there was a fix for poor performance with large libraries.
Any other thoughts on updating the 1.05 FW.
