Is there any software can convert video format on DNS323?

Hi buddies,

Is there any software can convert video format(e.g. from rmvb to wmv or avi or some others...) on DNS-323?
I have many rmvb videos, the real player is very slow to play them from network share. But for some other medias(avi, wmv...) did not met this issue.(I use KMPlayer to play wmv/avi files, it will stop work when I try to open the rmvb files...)...

So...I want to convert my rmvb videos to avi, is there any software can do this? I know there are many software can working on Windows, but I think it's not a good idea if I copy the media files to my PC and convert then copy back......

Any body can help me?

Thank you very much.

Best Regards,

Are you using Vista and Realplayer 11? Try downgrading to Realplayer 10.x. It seems to be much faster with network drive access.

Also, converting in Windows and copying the files back to the DNS is probably the most versatile method. I'm not sure why you don't like that.

Yes, I'm using Vista & Realplayer 11.
Thank you, it looks the issue of RealPlayer. I tried other player and works fine.

Regarding convert the files at Windows and copy back...Oops...because my files are very large(the count almost 50G+), it''ll spend many times on the network transfer... smile, So I want find a way to do this work on the DNS323.

Thank you.

This thing has a 500Mhz ARM processor and 64Mb of RAM.  If you can find a Linux package to do it I'm sure it's possible but not practical in the least.

Re: Is there any software can convert video format on DNS323?

I would be pleased if I could find or buind mencoder for the DNS.

Then, even if it takes one night to convert a video, as long as I don't have to keep a real computer powered on to do it, I don't care...
