Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Sorry I might be repeating some posts.. but none of them really clearly answer my question.
I moved from fun_plug 0.4 to 0.5 recently.
On 0.4, I had fan_control script running (see the hardware section for it..)
but when I try the same thing on 0.5, I run into the following situations
1. If I run fan_control.sh from the fun_plug script, it seems to prevent other components (ffp/start) from starting. i.e. telnet
2. If I run fan_control.sh manually from telnet after booting, the fan speed control seems to be functioning nicely. However the hard drive no longer spins down..
Does anyone have a way of running fan_control sucessfully on fun_plug 0.5 without running into these problems?
exactly how is it done?
Thanks!

Although it didn't seem to get much interest I found fonzs' new script much better than the more popular fan_control script on the wiki.

I use a script in ffp/start to launch this and it doesn't cause other startup scripts to hang and my discs spin down OK.

Thanks. There's a (very recent) second version of that program that can properly stop and restart the fan (if desired). Uli has done extensive tests and provides a package until I get around to include it. It's german, though.

Sounds good - I look in to it - If I can't workout the german I'll keep an eye out until you post here.

Thanks a lot - very clear instructions. Seems to be working fine for me with the defaults supplied
