http access for Volume_1

I'm a recent convert from an NSLU2 to the DNS323 NAS.  The one thing I really liked about the NSLU2 was that I could access all folders and files from the web interface.  I can't figure out how to do that on the DNS323 - is it possible?  I would like to be able to browse all the folder of Volume_1 from the web so that I wouldn't need to access them via an ftp client.  It makes it convenient if I'm at a computer without a nice ftp client.
Any thoughts?

You could use a separate filemanager. Like http://phpfm.sourceforge.net/. You need to run a webserver on your machine like lighttpd. It's included in ffp.

Re: http access for Volume_1

If you just want to "access all folders and files from the web interface" (and don't need to actually browse), then you can take advantage of the "gaping" security hole^H^H^H^H feature of the dns-323 that will allow you to view ANY file over your local intranet just by typing in the url:
http://<your dns-323/<path-to-file>

or if per your post you are specifically interested in files with Volume_1 as a base, then you could use:
http://<your dns-323/usr/share/ftp_server/Volume_1/<path-to-file>

One advantage of this bug^H^H^H feature is that you don't have to waste any time creating user accounts or entering passwords that you are only likely to forget since with the current firmware, these files are easily viewable by anybody who can access your local network!

Re: http access for Volume_1

If you have F/W 1.05, there is already an "unofficial" web access page.

http://<ip-address-of-DNS>/web/wfs_login.asp

Login with a user and password that has share permissions.

You can read about it and see screenshots in this thread:  http://dns323.kood.org/forum/viewtopic. … 85&p=1

Re: http access for Volume_1

Thanks everybody for the quick responses!  There seems to be lots of options.  I especially like the idea of the file manager.  I just got  lighttpd running and that looks pretty cool.
