I'm trying to fdisk my usbdrive located at /dev/sdc but I get "Segmentation fault". I tried /ffp/sbin/fdisk and /usr/sbin/fdisk. I did a search but could not find anything helpful.
Here is my fdisk -l /dev/sdc:
Disk /dev/sdc: 2017 MB, 2017460224 bytes 16 heads, 32 sectors/track, 7696 cylinders Units = cylinders of 512 * 512 = 262144 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sdc1 * 1 7696 1970160 6 FAT16
Here is fdisk /dev/sdc:
The number of cylinders for this disk is set to 7696. There is nothing wrong with that, but this is larger than 1024, and could in certain setups cause problems with: 1) software that runs at boot time (e.g., old versions of LILO) 2) booting and partitioning software from other OSs (e.g., DOS FDISK, OS/2 FDISK) Segmentation fault

Hi!
I had exactly the same problem like you when I wanted to format my 8 gb usb stick some days ago
My solution was to format the usb stick using the Gparted live CD (http://gparted.sourceforge.net/download.php) instead of the build-in fdisk ...
