Automatic downloading files from http with list

Hello friends ,

I am looking forward for a home NAS and i found quite good reviews for it all over the web.
I have reasonably good knowledge with linux , and i see that this box has Linux in it.

I want my NAS to do the following works

1) Backups and files etc
2) Automatic downloading from http servers and ability to add downloads from a list.
3)iTunes server.

I found out the number 1) and 3) are quite good qith 323 , but what about 2) ? I know it has bittorrent , But i rarely need it , since i download mostly from http servers (with login) . Is it possible to add downloads from a file List and schedule them ?

I saw abt the schedule feature , but i really need to find if it supports downloads from http from list .
Even if the default os doesnt have it , is it possible to use curl r wget to download via some hack ?

Thanks in advance ,
Vinay

Re: Automatic downloading files from http with list

Use wget. The one which comes with FP 0.5 doesnt have a lot of features. I use the one provided with the optware package. I use it to download files from Rapidshare Premium A/C. For authentication to R.Share i use cookie files from IE. Works like a charm. I've been intending to write a script to automate the process but so far haven't got around to doing it.
